RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

We develop new products following a rigorous procedure. First of all the proposed application is analyzed by computer model. We determine the flow characteristics of the baseline intercooler and predict what the improved design is likely to achieve.

Then plastic or sheet metal models are built and tested on the Superflow 600 Flowbench. Not only are we looking for improved flow rates but balanced air flow across the intercooler core. Modifications to the design are made as necessary.


Next, the proposed design is constructed as a manufacturing prototype suitable for dyno testing. This prototype is subjected to further flow testing and modifications as required. Then "back to back" dyno testing is done with no other changes other than the change in intercoolers.

Finally the intercooler is installed for on the road or water testing. In the case of vehicles, chassis dyno testing may be substituted for engine dyno testing.
