Mercury's "blue" EFI engines are very popular entry level packages for high performance boaters.
Typically coupled to Bravo XR drives, they are begging for an injection of power.
Rtech Performance takes a different supercooler design approach to these engines. By modifying the upper intake manifold to accept the large Rtech intercooler core overall air flow from blower to intake manifold is greatly improved.
This design produces as much as 100 additional HP over standard intercooler designs for centrifugal blowers on this engine. This performance gain is achieved without spinning the supercharger any faster. Combining this improved intercooler design with Vortech blowers has allowed Rtech Performance to provide higher efficiency supercharging systems for EFI.
The stock throttle body and port injectors are retained for ease of installation and superior fuel distribution. Rtech' s complete supercharging system for the HP 500 EFI has been tuned for 800 HP @ 5500 RPM and 7 psi of boost, using 50 lb/hr injectors and a reprogrammed ECM. A similar system can be applied to Mercury' s 525 EFI for 875 HP using the MEFI4B ECU and 63 lb/hr injectors. The system for the 525 EFI engine also features a new, larger heat exchanger for the closed cooling system, a must for the HP being delivered. water.
