High performance boats with 454, 502 and 540 CID engines can benefit greatly from the installation of a centrifugal supercharging kit.
Rtech provides two products for this market: the Rtech Supersystem and the Rtech Supercooler.
Our complete supercharging system features the low restriction intercooler and the new high efficiency Ysi trim compressor. The Supersystem has been dyno tested from 800 - 1000hp on a 500 - 600hp base. A perfect upgrade for Mercury HP500.
Rtech Big Block Chev Marine
The integrated intercooler/carb box is no higher than standard Vortech or Procharger carb boxes and does not require as much clearance in front of the engine as typical intercoolers.
This system is mounted on a single plane intake (Dart or Victor Jr.) and can be used with aftermarket EFI systems built around single plane intakes with 4 barrel throttle bodies.
Compatible with Holley EFI
Although our intercoolers are designed to work well on basically stock engines with unmodified heads and mild cams, they perform well when tested on more aggressive engines. Higher flow and more effective cooling are never wrong.
We recently dyno tested our complete supercharger system on a 498 stroker engine with GM cast iron ported heads and a solid roller camshaft. This engine made over 950 HP at only 8.5 psi of boost. Charge air temperature was reduced from 225F to only 80F using 60F water.
